The childhood home of rapper J. Cole was vandalized over the weekend in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Fayetteville, North Carolina, according to The News & Observer.

The message that was spray-painted: “J Cole … do you even care about the ville?”

Cole and his brother moved to the house when he was younger after his mother remarried.

His third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, was named after the address of the home and featured a picture of Cole sitting on the roof of the house.

The message was removed from the home by Monday morning, according to the newspaper.

The Grammy-nominated rapper purchased the home through his Dreamville Foundation after his mom lost it to foreclosure.

He’s said that he wants to turn the property into a rent-free home for single-mother families.
