Hip Hop mogul and the CEO of the legendary Rap-a-Lot Records, James “J” Prince appeared on Sway In The Morning and revealed he told Drake to end his ongoing beef with Pusha T over the weekend.

Last week Pusha T ignited a beef with the 6 god over claims that he uses a ghostwriter on his track “Infrared,” off his album DAYTONA. Within a day of hearing the record, Drake responded with a song of his own,”Duppy Freestyle.” One thing led to another and Pusha hit back with “The Story of Adidon” which alleges Drake has a secret son, features cover art of him in blackface and throws shots at 40, his best friend who has multiple sclerosis.

The weekend passed and fans expected to hear a scathing response from Drake for the taunting and disrespect. However, the Rap-A-Lot CEO stepped in and called the superstar to end the issue because it had crossed rap lines. Prince and Drake have a relationship because his son, Jas Prince is responsible for discovering the “Nice For What” rapper and getting him signed to Young Money.

At the 7:25 mark of the video above, J Prince is asked about the battle and rumors that he squashed it, the Houston native confirmed that he spoke to Kanye West and Drake.

“After speaking with Kanye, I spoke with the brother…and he didn’t want this. I saw this going to a place that I feel would have ended his career if Drake would’ve put out this song that he had on him,” said James Prince. “It definitely would’ve hurt families, and we’re not in it for that. That’s not Drake’s character to tear a man down to that extent.”
