Exciting news: a few of our favorite stars have aligned for the planned remake of the 1990 thriller Jacob’s Ladder.

Jesse Williams, who recently made headlines with news of a planned Harry Belafonte biopic, tells EBONY.com exclusively that he will star as as the brother of Michael Ealy’s Jacob.

Jacob’s Ladder is a cult classic, and we haven’t seen anything like it on screen since it’s release—and we certainly haven’t seen characters that look like us at the center of a modern psychological thriller,” says the “Grey’s Anatomy” star.

Ealy will executive produce the psychological thriller, which will be a joint production between LD Entertainment, Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films and Will Packer Productions.

Also joining the cast is actress Nicole Beharie, whose recent exit from Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow” devastated many of the show’s fans. David M. Rosenthal (The Perfect Guy) will direct.

“I’m exciting about this material and bringing it to life with Will, David and the entire team,” Williams tells EBONY.com.

Filming is set to begin this summer.
