Janet Jackson filed for divorce from London-based Qatari businessman, Wissam Al Mana, shortly after giving birth to son, Eissa, leading some to question Ms. Jackson’s motives.

Now, Steven “Randy” Jackson is speaking out on behalf of his younger sister, letting it be known that the 51-year-old entertainer suffered verbal abuse while with Al Mana, even throughout her already difficult pregnancy.

“There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce. I’ve been through a lot, we all have,” Randy shared with People.

“It was quite an abusive situation. It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home.”

Big brother Randy claims the billionaire often cursed his wife out, including calling her out of her name while carrying his child.

“No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch every day. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.”

The 55-year-old admits to pressuring the “Control” singer to leave her child’s father earlier this year.

“I told her, ‘You’ve got to move in with me or I’m going to go over there and there’s going to be hell.’ She was really pissed off. I told her, ‘I don’t care anymore. I’m tired of it. It’s too much.’”

The siblings also kept Janet’s marital problems hidden from parents, Katherine, 87 and Joe, 89.

“I didn’t want them to know. My parents are up there in age so I wanted to protect them as much as possible, but now they know. Everybody in the family knows.”

Early reports of their split claimed Al Mana’s Muslim beliefs led to their separation, but Randy claims that was never the case, saying, “I have a lot of Muslim friends and they don’t act that way at all. It’s a personal issue that he needs help with and I’m going to pray for him, too. But I’m not going to allow her to live in that abusive situation. She’s my baby sister.”

The singer recently broke down during her Houston, TX tour stop while singing “What About,” a song about domestic violence.
