What's in a name? Well, if your name is Blue Ivy Carter, a lot of lucrative possibilities. Luckily for the uniquely-named infant, her proud parents have eliminated any possibility of others cashing in. Jay-Z and Beyonce decided to take action recently by filing an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. And with good reason: two people have already submit applications to trademark the name "Blue Ivy."

Reports of preferential treatment have already began circulating, but the office claims that the parents went through the same process as any other applicant. Like a true Queen Bee, Beyonce will be holding the rights to her daughter's name under her company HGK Holdings. Apparently, the power couple have big plans in mind for their baby's moniker, including baby items like cosmetics and strollers, as well as a fashion line. As fascinating as it has been to follow the dream partnership and subsequent pregnancy of Beyonce and Jay-Z, isn't it time to take a step back and let the new mom and dad have some alone time with their new bundle of joy?
