Kendrick Lamar may be looking to become an EGOT winner with his latest move, making his acting debut on the very popular Starz show Power.

He played a crackhead who helps Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s character, Kanan. Fans had positive reactions on social media seeing the Lamar on the show. According to Rolling Stone, Courtney Kemp, the co-creator of the show (along with 50 Cent), said the two rappers were hanging out, the idea for Lamar to get on the show was discussed and it took off from there. Kemp went on to describe Lamar’s character on the show as a full transformation from what people normally expect from him.

Lamar has been on quite a winning streak lately. He  was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for music and several Grammys for his 2017 album, Damn!, earlier this year. Power has been a fan favorite for the past five years and has received strong reviews from critics. The show airs on the Starz network, which is owned by Lionsgate. In an interview with the Decider, Starz COO Jeffrey Hirsch said Power is one of its consistently highest rated shows. Hip Hop Wired reported the Starz app helped increase viewership of the  premiere episode of Season Five by 40 percent.
