After an intense bidding war, Hulu won the rights to Little Fires Everywhere.

The streaming service ordered the adaptation of Celeste Ng’s book straight to series with Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon attached to star and executive produce, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Hollywood Reporter describes Ng’s book as:

Little Fires Everywhere follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, the ferocious pull of motherhood — and the danger in believing that following the rules can avert disaster.

The show is a big get for Hulu, which is competing with Netflix and Amazon in the streaming service space.

“Celeste wove a beautiful, riveting story that spoke to all of us, and when we heard the vision Reese, Kerry and Liz have for the series, we knew immediately that we had to bring it to Hulu,”  Joel Stillerman, Hulu chief content officer, told THR.

Washington currently stars in Scandal, which is in its final season, while Witherspoon is prepping for another season of HBO’s hit Big Little Lies and an upcoming morning-show drama with Jennifer Aniston that landed at Apple.

No premiere date for Little Fires Everywhere has been announced.
