Anyone who follows Kevin Hart on Instagram knows his page is usually a source of laughs and inspiration. This weekend, however, the stand-up’s somber message to his wife, kids and fans was anything but a laughing matter.

The Ride Along star revealed that he is currently the target of an extortion plot by a woman claiming to have “sexually suggestive” videos of them together, looking for a big payoff.

Hart, 38, admitted to his “bad error in judgment” and specifically addressed the apology to his wife Eniko Parrish, who is expecting her first child with the actor, and his two older children – Heaven, 12 and Hendrix, 9.

“I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back,” Hart said in the post. “And because of that I should make smart decisions. And recently, I didn’t.

“You know, I’m not perfect. I’m not going to sit up here and say that I am or claim to be in any way shape or form. And I made a bad error in judgment and I put myself in a bad environment where only bad things can happen and they did.”

He continued, “I’m also not going to allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes and in this particular situation that was what was attempted. I said I’d rather fess up to my mistakes.”

TMZ reported a woman demanded the actor pay her millions after they recorded a “sexually suggestive” video. A representative for Hart told the site: “Someone tried to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt.”
