Mary J. Blige is riding high after celebrating her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and her 47th birthday. Today (January 12) she shared a new anthem for women entitled “Bounce Back 2.0.”
The track starts off with an empowering message in support of the Time’s Up movement, which promotes the end of discrimination, harassment, and assault. “Ladies, let me tell you something,” she sings. “We’ve come too far to lose / We’ll win this battle.”
She continues to tell the tale of the strength that is often made from our scars and that the light is at the end of the tunnel. “Look what we’re made of,” she adds. “Beautiful scars on us / This life is what we make it / Won’t change a thing / Ain’t worried about it, no.”
