Former partners-in-rhyme Ma$e and Cam’ron got into a heated war of words over the Thanksgiving holiday, with the Harlem World rapper taking the first shot with is track, “The Oracle.” Cam soon returned fire with “Dinner Time” where he called out the Bad Boy artist for being a “false teacher” who “ran a ponzi” scheme while claiming to be a man of God.

In fact, Ma$e’s decision to alternate between religion and rap has led many to call him hypocritical. He believes, however, that he truly does have a higher calling and that everyone is paid to do what they do best, according to his new interview with Angie Martinez.

“You make money at anything you’re good at. If you’re a good doctor, you make money.”

The uptown spitter cites both 50 Cent and JAY-Z as figures who pursued more than hip hop with phenomenal results, saying, “Don’t make it now a curse because I did it.”

He adds that his decision to offer a helping hand in the community at the height of his career was sincere, and that choice shouldn’t be demonized due to his rap affiliation.
