Today host Matt Lauer is the latest celebrity figure to be outed for sexual misconduct in the workplace, as the NBC staple has just been fired from the popular morning show following newly revealed allegations.

Lauer’s former co-anchor Savannah Guthrie broke the news, reading a statement from NBC News Chairman Andy Lack: “We received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. It represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company’s standards. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.”

The 59-year-old newsman is largely considered the face of NBC, leading Today to become the network’s biggest earner, according to TMZ. Focus is now slowly turning to the fate of the show, with fans overwhelmingly requesting former anchor Tamron Hall be asked back by the network that cancelled her hour of the show in favor of former Fox News talking head, Megyn Kelly.

Many also point out how NBC’s decision to scrap her hour has come back to haunt them, as Lauer’s firing leaves their fate unclear.

Author Luvvie Ajayi tweeted that the Temple grad’s ancestors must be watching out for her, as everyone who has wronged her is getting their just due.

Even if NBC decided to extend an offer, Hall is preparing to host her own talk show.

Did NBC play themselves by letting Hall go? Sound off below.
