Nearly four months after their royal wedding on May 19, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced her pregnancy on Monday.

The Kensington Palace, the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced that the family would grow to three in spring 2019.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” Kensington Palace tweeted.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

According to People.com, Markle is 12 weeks pregnant and doing well. The Duchess reportedly sought medical advice about the Zika virus, which can lead to birth defects including microcephaly, a condition that results in small head size due to abnormal brain development. The royal couple is scheduled to travel to Fiji and Toga, where the zika virus has been detected.
