Former NFL star and Michael Strahan has been named as a co-host of the new third hour of Good Morning America alongside Sara Haines, a onetime anchor on The ViewABC News confirmed earlier today.

 

The show, titled GMA Day, will air at 1 p.m.Eastern Standard Time weekdays, three hours after GMA’s second hour. It replaces ABC’s canceled culinary show, The Chew, and will debut on Sept. 10 and

Strahan shared the news on Twitter, asking people to spread the exciting news. “Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the whole town, shout it from the rooftops!”

Haines took a moment to share her joy over the new journey. “Ahhhhhhhh!! Not even sure I can find the words to adequately express how excited I am to sit next to as we embark on this new journey,” she tweeted.

Strahan played for the New York Giants the entire length of his 15-year career and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014. He became the co-host of  Live! With Kelly and Michael in 2012 , then a full-time anchor on Good Morning America in April 2016.
