Wait a minute, or as they say “wayment.” Was last night’s MTV Movie Awards Blacker than the BET Awards?

Let’s revisit.

1. Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson entered the show in their own version of Mad Max, complete with flames and leather. Then, they dressed up as superheroes in a nod to both Captain America and Batman vs. Superman.

2. Salt-N-Pepa serenades Ryan Reynolds amidst a sea of dancing Deadpools.

3. Will Smith wins the Generation Award.  And Lonely Island performed his greatest hits to boot. Who’s that, you say? Listen and look here.

And he said this onstage: “”When I first heard that MTV wanted to give me the Generation Award, I thought that was like code for the ‘Old Ass Dude Award’—’Congratulations, your best work is behind you, have fun,'” Smith said, jokingly. “This is absolutely beautiful,” he said. “I was in Brooklyn the other day shooting, and these women came running out, they’re like 35-40 years old, they’re screaming, ‘Oh my God, Will, Will!’ Then there is this one kid who is 8 years old and he’s like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, I don’t know who you are. I don’t know who you are.’ So I knelt down and said, ‘I’m the Karate Kid’s dad.'”

4. “Straight Outta Compton” wins the best true story award. The cast also mocked the Oscars in their acceptance speech. “I would just like to take a moment to, like, thank the Academy,” said Jason Mitchell, who portrayed Eazy-E in the movie.  “I mean, MTV. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. My bad!”
