Netflix confirmed earlier today (May 21) that the company would be partnering with the Obamas on a multi-year deal where the former president and first lady will produce films and series.

In the tweet, the streaming platform revealed the former president and first lady’s deal could potentially include “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, and features.” Reports of “advanced negotiations” between Netflix and the Obamas began circulating in March, but the details of the partnership were still unclear at the time.

Since Obama’s presidency, the couple has launched the Obama Foundation and secured a book deal with a massive $65 million payout. Susan Rice, a former national security adviser for the Obama administration, has also joined Netflix’s board of directors. We can look forward to watching content produced by the Obamas shortly.
