A Tribe Called Quest producer Q-Tip is gearing up to portray one of Jazz’s greatest musicians in the New York City production of upcoming play My Funny Valentine.

The Queens rapper will play trumpeter and composer Miles Davis in the stage play written by Nelson George. The playwright made the announcement via Instagram, along with a photo of himself with the multitalented creative.

“This Monday March 26th at 9:30pm @joespub #myfunnyvalentine a play about #MilesDavis starring @qtiptheabstract in the title role. Written by me and produced by #therewassound with @cassiedamsel @margotbingham. Tickets only $20 for this staged reading. A day in the life of the jazz giant in 1981.”

The play is reportedly about “a day in the life of the jazz giant.”
