Queen Latifah has been bitten by the mommy bug.  According to the rapper-turned-actress, whose real name is Dana Owens, her initial interest in adoption came about when she was only a teenager. During a recent visit to "The View," Latifah, 42, told the show's hosts that she is "working on" adopting a child in the future. Television, she revealed, had also played a large role in her desire to eventually become a mother. 

“I think I saw one of those specials… you know those movies of the week," said Latifah. "And it was like… I just always wanted to bring a child home.” Latifah also joked with the women about possibly taking in a children that they didn't want and setting up "camp" to adopt them. In May, Latifah made headlines by performing at a gay pride event in California, leading many to speculate the moment as Latifah officially coming out. “That definitely wasn’t the case," Latifah said. "I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.”
