R. Kelly Believes ‘It’s Too Late’ to End His Music Career (VIDEO)

While the #MuteRKelly movement has more traction today than it ever has, R. Kelly still appears to be unbothered, recently telling a group of friends that “it’s too late” to silence the R&B star.

A Facebook Live video attributed to retired NBA star Antoine Walker surfaced on Twitter May 17, showing the “Ignition” artist explain to friends that his music has had too large of an impact on the masses for his career to end on anything other than his own terms.

“I got a million muthaf*ckas hating me and 40 billion muthaf*ckas loving me, you know what I’m saying? … I am handcuffed, like a lot of you muthaf*ckas, I’m handcuffed by my destiny. It’s too late, they shoulda did this sh*t 30 years ago. It’s too late. The music has been injected into the world. OK? I hired my mutherf*cking self.”

Check out the footage below.

TMZ reports sources close to the singer claim Kelly was making reference to those attempting to silence his music, including Spotify and certain media outlets who refuse to play his records. He reportedly was not addressing his sexual misconduct accusers specifically.

There may be a bit of truth to Kelly’s assertion, as his removal from major Spotify playlists has only improved his numbers with the streaming giant.
