Actress Raven-Symoné interviewed with AM to DM, Buzzfeed News’ morning talk show, on Thursday and discussed her views on race and clarified controversial statements she made about her ethnicity on OWN’s Where Are They Now in 2014.

The Raven’s Home star went viral when she told Oprah Winfrey, “I’m tired of being labeled,” after questions about her sexuality.

She continued, “I’m an American. I’m not African-American — I’m American…I don’t know what country in Africa I’m from, but I do know that my roots are in Louisiana. I’m an American. And that’s a colorless person.”

The 32-year-old recanted the colorless remark saying, “I didn’t say I wasn’t Black.”

Raven continued, “I know I’m Black. There’s just a difference. There are many African-Americans, especially in 2018, that come over from Africa…that’s how I look at that title. There are a lot of Black Americans here who have been here longer than the Americans that are a different color.”
