Acclaimed producer and director Ava DuVernay reportedly has a new project on the way. The Queen Sugar producer is working on a new TV series titled Red Line which is centered on the police brutality epidemic.

The hour-long drama will follow the aftermath of the killing of Black doctor by a White cop as well as the intertwining of the three families affected by the shooting. CBS has ordered the series and may premiere the first season on their network.

DuVernay has been the mind behind movies and documentaries such as A Wrinkle in Time13th, Selma and Middle of Nowhere. She even directed Jay-Z’s star-studded music video for “Family Feud.”

Nearly 1,000 Americans were killed by police officers in 2017.
