No new episode of Megyn Kelly Today aired on Thursday and she will miss out on Friday’s show, as NBC decided to air a pre-taped episode, an NBC spokesperson confirmed with the Hollywood Reporter.

On Tuesday, Kelly, and an all White panel, discussed people wearing Blackface for Halloween where the television host seemingly did not understand why Blackface was racist.

“What is racist?” said Kelly. “You do get in trouble if you are a White person who puts on blackface for Halloween, or a Black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was okay just as long as you were dressing as a character.”

Many were quick to condemn Kelly’s actions, as she received sharp criticism from her now former colleagues on the network.

NBC News veteran Al Roker said on the 7 a.m. hour of the Today Show on Wednesday that Kelly “owes a bigger apology to folks around the country.”

“This is a history, going back to the 1830s [with] minstrel shows. To demean and denigrate a race wasn’t right,” said Roker. “I’m old enough to have lived through Amos ‘n’ Andy where you had white people in blackface playing two black characters just magnifying the stereotypes about black people. And that’s what the big problem is. … No good comes from it. It’s just not right.”

Kelly apologized for the remarks on her show saying that she was wrong.

“You may have heard yesterday that we had a discussion here. … I defended the idea, saying that as long as it was respectable and part of the Halloween costume, it seemed OK. Well, I was wrong, and I am sorry,” she said.
