Rihanna recently shared the tragic news that her cousin lost his life to gun violence just one day after their family spent Christmas together. Police have now found the man accused of fatally shooting Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, 21.
The alleged killer, identified as Shawayne DaShawn Williams, 23, was arrested and charged with murder, according to Barbados Today. The accused was remanded until Jan. 31.
The “Close to You” songstress posted several photos of Alleyne on Instagram the day after the deadly shooting, calling for an end to gun violence.
“RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man! #endgunviolence.”
Barbados Today reports nearly 80 percent of murders last year within the country were gun-related, spiking drastically compared to previous years.
