Robin Roberts is heading to the hospital for her bone marrow transplant procedure, yet she found time to bid farewell to well-wishers on Twitter on Monday morning. "My last tweet for awhile. Heading to hospital… time to focus on healing. I take each and everyone one of you with me in my heart. Light and love," she tweeted. In addition to the message, she also posted a picture of herself with a shaved head and a photo of her parents on Facebook. "Holding a picture of my two guardian angels… mom and dad," she wrote.

Roberts revealed on the air that she was diagnosed with MDS, a rare blood and bone-marrow disorder, in June. She will be receiving a bone marrow transplant from her sister Sally. The night before she went into the hospital, Roberts spent Sunday night at home with her "GMA" colleagues. "Shhhhh… don't tell my doctors I'm up late w/ @GMA fam before I go to hospital in the AM," she tweeted, after writing, "We are family… @GMA family w/ @JoshElliottABC at my apt giving me a send off to remember." Roberts' treatment is expected to last several months, and she will spend a few days in the hospital before the actual transplant.

Roberts originally postponed the procedure after her mother Lucimarian passed away.
