Roseanne Barr has apologized after a racist Twitter rant on Tuesday aimed at President Obama’s former advisor Valerie Jarrett.

“I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,” Barr tweeted. “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

The star said she is “now leaving Twitter” after outrage quickly spread online over her statements “I’m which she said, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

Barr’s “joke” about Jarrett, an African-American woman, comes after other controversial remarks she’s made about Obama, Chelsea Clinton and Jewish people.

Executives of the Disney owned network ignore the controversial remarks she makes and her push of “pro-Trump conspiracy theories,” because they feel that they cannot control her and that she should focus on her show, according to CNN Money.

The Roseanne reboot premiered in March to record ratings for the network and controversy since she decided to make her character a supporter of President Donald Trump, something she is in real life.
