Rosanne Barr is revisiting the Twitter scandal that cost her the reboot of her classic self-titled sitcom, posting a NSFW video to her YouTube page to explain her actions.
Outrage quickly spread online over her statement, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” referring to former Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett. Soon after, ABC canceled her show. The network called Barr’s joke “abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent” with their values.
Barr has since apologized on Twitter, most recently saying she actually thought Jarrett was White.
“I’m trying to talk about Iran! I’m trying to talk about Valerie Jarrett about the Iran deal. That’s what my tweet was about,” Barr screamed. “I thought the b*tch was white!” she said, getting even louder. “Goddamnit, I thought the b*tch was white. F*ck!
