Burn MotherF*cker Burn is about to set Showtime ablaze.

The documentary comes in time for the 25th anniversary of the L.A. Riots, one of the most destructive moments in history. The docu-film will give context as to what lead to the hostile riots – with inclusion of the tense relationship that brewed between the LAPD and residents for years; the 1965 Watts riots and the 1991 Rodney King beating which sparked the events that took place in 1992.

Hip-hop journalist Sacha Jenkins (CNN’s Fresh Dressed documentary) directed the film, which serves as part of series of content Showtime is cooking up centered around the riots’ 25th anniversary.

The documentary will air on Friday, April 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
