K. Michelle, “Christmas Night”

K. Michelle decided to get in on Christmas caroling with an original song, but she didn’t go the cheesy route. Keeping it true to her typical musical style, she soulfully sings the story of a love lost on Christmas night. The song is good enough to make people wonder if K. Michelle will come with an entire Christmas album this season. Fingers crossed.

Trae tha Truth, I Am King

Trae tha Truth drops his newest mixtape, I Am King, after months of releasing trailers, artwork, and various other teasers. The Houston native keeps it street as he guides listeners into his world of gritty Southern hip-hop. The mixtape’s lead single, “1 Up,” is a mid-tempo track driven by sinister chords. It features Lil Boss, Wiz Khalifah and Jadakiss warning any “p***y ni**as who run up” that they don’t play those games.

“Stay Trill” (ft. Krazie Bone and Roscoe Dash) is Trae’s latest video leak, and the title is pretty self-explanatory. (The video is posted below for those who may need a reference.) Keeping it trill is pretty much the just of the whole mixtape. It’s gritty, rough and rugged. I Am King is for those who appreciate the hardcore.

Dwele, “Drive the Future”

The underrated Detroit representative has stepped up to the mic again, and so far so good. “Drive the Future” is the latest single from the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, and it’s evidence that he’s still got it. “Drive the Future” is a positive two-step-inducing tune about commanding your destiny. This infectious song is motivation at its best, and according to Dwele, it was inspired by his passion for the Black United Fund of Michigan, to which all proceeds will go.
