Stevie Wonder recently was the victim of an extortion plot concocted by his nephew Alpha Lorenzo Walker and Walker's girlfriend Tamara Eileen Diaz. Both remained jailed in Los Angeles after being charged with the crime of trying to obtain money from the Grammy-winning musician. The pair were arrested on May 2nd by detectives investigating the claim. District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robinson says they pleaded not guilty on May 4th.
Wonder's representatives reported that the relatives were claiming to have embarrassing information about the musician. Walker threatened to go to the tabloids and say that he's the product of an incestuous relationship between Stevie and Stevie's sister — unless the singer coughed up the big bucks for his silence. Although it hasn't been confirmed, Walker identifies himself as Wonder's nephew and remains jailed without bail because of another pending court case. Meanwhile, Diaz is being held on $95,000 bail.
