After two years, Tamar Braxton has released her fifth and possibly final album, Bluebird of Happiness.
Executive produced by Braxton, Vincent Herbert and Rodney Jerkins, the followup to Calling All Lovers includes lead singles “My Man” and “Blind.” Yo Gotti appears to be the only guest feature on the 11-track project.
In an interview in June with Rap-Up, the R&B songbird shared that the album would be a combination of her past projects. Before calling it her “best work yet,” she said that “it’s almost like Love and War and Calling All Lovers got together and had a baby.” The baby of the Braxton sisters sat down with TV talk show host Wendy Williams this week to talk about her project and how it helped her find peace and happiness. “On my quest for happiness, I had to get in tune with my spirit,” she said. “I felt so broken, so lost and confused about everything. [I still feel that way] somedays, but I’m a lot better than I was.” She also confirmed that this would be her last album, but it isn’t the last you’ll hear of her. “I have to take a step back and figure out what is working and what is not working,” she concluded.
Tamar is set to join Xscape and Monica on “The Great Xscape Tour,” which kicks off Nov. 22 in Richmond, Va. Listen to Bluebird of Happiness on Apple Music here.
