Timbaland “the king” has given himself that moniker for a reason. For decades, the musician has been lacing various genres with tricked-out beats and solid experimental production.

Recognized for his contributions and collaborations with A-list artists such as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Justin Timberlake, to name a few, Timbaland’s creative impact dates back to the mid-90s when he and Missy Elliott revamped the style, sound and career of the late, Aaliyah.

Now, his genius is spread throughout the music choices on Fox’s hit series, Empire. But, for one enthralled in working, creating and producing, Timbo has even more gems ready to be released with the announcement of a new mixtape, available on Christmas Day.

“King Stays King” features music’s latest talent including Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug, Blaze, and Mila J, who teased her work with Tim via Instagram.

The 16-track body of work embodies the signature “Timbaland” stamp of out-the-box production while allowing the artistic voice of its features to shine in their lane.

Motown Recording artist Mila J, who like Aaliyah, fuses a street-sweetness to her melodic tone and liquid dance moves, stands out with “Get No Betta.’ Rich Homie Quan, Blaze and Young Thug bring their unique deliveries to tracks, “Didn’t Do It” and Servin’.

The ultimate treat, however, is an unheard track from Aaliyah.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been able to give the world some new music,” Timbaland said in a press release. “I’ve spent a lot of time working on this project and I am just looking forward to giving my fans some dope sounds to close out the year.”

Already, “King Stays King” feels like a must-have album!
