Tyrese Gibson recently shared family photos via Instagram calling out ex-wife, Norma Mitchell Gibson, after she was granted a temporary restraining order against the R&B vocalist.
The 38-year-old singer called his ex “bitter,” “resentful” and “mean-spirited,” for accusing him of abusing their daughter, Shayla.
Norma accused the Transformers star of pushing “our daughter to the ground, pinning her face down, putting his knees on her back, grabbing her hands with one arm and beating her with the other,” according to court documents obtained by People.
She also claims the “Sweet Lady” crooner hit their daughter “between 12 and 16 times,” leading the child to allegedly later tell her mom that she couldn’t sit down due to pain, saying, “Mom, Dad beat me so hard that it hurts when I sit down.”
The Watts native denies these allegations, believing his ex is still upset that he’s moved on and remarried.
“There’s someone out here for everybody – Norma I know you can see this, I’m sorry I got re-married, I’m sorry we didn’t work out I’m sorry you haven’t been able to find another man since we separated.
“Sometimes you get married and have kids and things just don’t work out, but I have NEVER wished harm on you.”
He continued, “I was hoping by now you got over what we used to be… Being bitter, resentful and just flat out mean will has never been good for our daughter …. But I see the attacks just won’t stop so I believe this too will pass and God and the courts will reveal the truth.”
In her declaration, Norma claims Black-Ty was also diagnosed with Bipolar disorder as well as manic behavior by three psychotherapists.
Apart from allegedly abusing their daughter, Norma claimed Tyrese’s short fuse leads him to “beat on the people he is in conflict with” and that he hit her “a number of times in the past including when I was pregnant with our daughter.”
