Tyrese appears to be at his wits end in a recent video shared via social media where the star can be seen tearing up over his current custody battle with ex-wife Norma Gibson.
The actor’s ex claims the “Sweet Lady” singer abused both her and their daughter, 12-year-old Shayla, recently testifying in graphic detail before a judge in an effort to make a temporary restraining order against him permanent.
In the shocking video, Gibson speaks to the plight of good fathers who are worked over by the system, saying it kills him that he hasn’t seen his only child in two months. He then begs Norma, “please, don’t take my baby, this is all I got,” through tears.
He goes on to say that he already pays his daughter’s mother $13,000 a month in child support and that her abuse allegations have resulted in studios refusing to hire him. He also calls out his “millionaire and billionaire friends” who haven’t been there for him through all of his personal turmoil.
The singer also took to Instagram and revealed that legal fees are slowly bleeding him dry, which may be why he was so upset with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for accepting a Fast and the Furious spinoff before they could film the next installment, delaying both the film and his check.
“FYI I was never mad at The Rock – I was just mad that he was ‘pitched’ an idea privately and said yes to it without thinking of what I’m dealing with personally, I’m almost broke paying legal fees… all I asked you to do ‘privately’ was NOT accept a role that would deeply [affect] us all……. You are simply NOT the people’s champ….. you are a selfish champ.”
Gibson has also threatened to quit the Fast and the Furious series if Johnson returns for the 9th film.
