VH1 has greenlighted its first hour-long scripted pilot entitled "Bounce." Written by James LaRosa and directed by Sanaa Hamri ("Just Wright") will star Dean Cain, Kimberly Elise, and newcomer Taylour Paige. The show is set in the world of professional basketball dancers. Think of it as "Basketball Wives" meets "Dancing with the Stars," as it will follow the lives and loves of a team of professional basketball dancers. Paige's character, Ahsha, is a sheltered young woman who joins the squad against the wishes of her mother Sloane (Elise), a former dancer herself who knows the tempting world all too well.

Dean Cain will play the coach of the basketball team. Valery Ortiz and Katerine Bailess will play two of the dancers, single mother Raquel and former stripper Kyle, respectively. "Bounce" follows in the footsteps of VH1's first hour-long series, the Queen Latifah-produced "Single Ladies," which didn't receive the traditional pilot stage – it originated as a movie.
