Longtime EBONY magazine photographers Tyrone Rasheed, Val Goodloe and Fred Watkins recently discussed their roles and experiences as true visual contributors to African-American culture through their lenses. Harlem's renowned Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture hosted "Visually Speaking: Photographing a Culture through the Pages of EBONY Magazine" to celebrate the contributions of Rasheed, Goodloe and Watkins. Curated by Terrence Jennings and moderated by Of Note magazine founder Grace Anieza Ali, with a program address by EBONY.com's own Miles Marshall Lewis, the Schomburg event was a rousing testament to the power of visuals in Black culture.
