W. Kamau Bell is back with his hit CNN series, United Shades of America and this season promises to rev up more interesting observations and dialogue.

Bell dives right into the first episode with the topic of immigration and refugees. He speaks with White nationalist Richard Spencer who is fixated and a proud recipient of “White privilege”, telling the political comedian, “I want to bathe in White privilege.”

The jaw-dropping doesn’t end there. As the season continues, Bell takes to the streets of his Chicago hometown to interview politicians, residents and gang members about the truth and lies of the city’s violence.

All of that and so much more will unfold when the Emmy-nominated series returns on April 30. Get a peek below.

Ahead of the docu-series’ first season, EBONY sat down with Bell and to discuss race, sitting down with members of the KKK, and what he learned about incarcerated Americans.
