Wendy Williams is using her birthday as a time to give back to the community. The talk show along with her family’s charity, The Hunter Foundation, and Facing Addiction with NCADD are presenting the “Wendy Williams Hunter Birthday Give Back Gala” on July 18 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

Williams has personal experience with drug addiction. In a 2014 exclusive interview with In Touch magazine, the entertainment personality revealed how she overcame a 10-year cocaine addiction while working as a radio DJ in her 20’s. She credits meeting her husband of 19 years, Kevin Hunter, with helping to change her lifestyle. Now, Williams wants to return the favor with the inaugural gala.

The proceeds raised from the event will “support youths and families suffering from addiction and substance abuse,” according to the Hunter Foundation website.

Comedian and TV personality Torrei Hart will host the gala. There will be musical performances by Grammy-nominated artists Johnny Gill and Keri Hilson.

Tickets for the gala are $100 and include reception, dinner and a gala booklet.
