Compton rapper YG is doing his part to ensure young women of color know careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) are well within their reach.

The “Big Bank” spitter recently cut a check for Los Angeles-based organization, Girl Code. Founded by NFL baller Dez white, Girl Code pushes to expose young women to computer science, business and software engineering.

YG told TMZ his own daughter inspired the move, saying, “With my donation, I hope they’ll be able to expand their reach of future female coders and programmers. I want to make sure I’m doing my part. I got a daughter and I respect the G Code.”

He also gifted the girls with new Beats by Dre headphones and discussed the importance of considering nontraditional careers
