Netflix is a master at producing exciting content, sparking provocative conversations and excellent binge sessions. Now that we are on the cusp of summer, Netflix just announced their June line-up and it certainly has some good stuff. From the return of Orange is the New Black to Julie Dash’s masterful classic, Daughters of the Dust, here are the new Black titles headed to Netflix for June. Trust us; you’ll love it.

Orange Is the New Black

The ladies of Litchfield return for a SUPER INTENSE fifth season of Orange is the New Black. Taking up arms and inciting a riot over the violent death of their beloved Poussey, shots will be fired, and secrets will be revealed. The fifth season of OITNB is set to take place over the course of 3 days, and no one will be the same once it’s all said and done. Season five of OITNB begins streaming on June 9th.

Scandal

If you’re still not caught up with Scandal, these are your final weeks to get it together before the FINAL season of the political drama premieres this fall. Kerry Washington slays in season six as Olivia Pope in this Shonda Rhimes series. This past season, we watched Olivia take on her father, some violate adversaries and even her closest friends. Get caught up now so you can be there when it all ends. The sixth season of Scandal begins streaming June 17th.

Disney’s Moana

Disney’s first Polynesian Princess, Moana, burst onto the screen with her strong will, epic songs and thirst for adventure and it paid off in a major way. On a quest to save her island, Moana sets out to find the lost demi-god Maui (Dawayne “The Rock” Johnson). You can set sail with Moana on June 20th.

Daughters Of the Dust

Julie Dash’s Daughter of the Dust was the first film by a Black woman to get a wide release. The stunning 1991 film follows the Gullah women on the Sea Islands off the Southeastern United States in the early 1900s who are pulled north by the Great Migration. You can watch the acclaimed film starting June 10th.

Inspired by the beloved but short-lived ’80s show, GLOW tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder, an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she’s thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women’s wrestling. Glow up on June 23rd.
