A few things for sure that Zendaya Coleman does not stand for is racism and disrespect.
Unfortunately EBONY’s 2015 Power 100 honoree experienced both during a visit to a store where she was looking to purchase various gift cards.
In a series of SnapChat videos, the KC Undercover actress, sounded appalled at the treatment she and a friend received from an employee of the store.
“The lady that was helping us, I don’t think she was a huge fan of our skin tone,” she says. “In fact, I recall her trying not to help us at all.”
With their fist raised, Zendaya and her friend chalked up the overall encounter to the fact that they were Black.

People need to get over the fact that Black and Brown humans are walking and breathing this earth. We are not going anywhere. Oh and yes, we are educated, comedic, and can afford $400 gift cards. The turned-up nose and dismissal of melanin is wack! So…Stop.
And after all the disrespect, Zendaya left us with an important message: “There’s so much progress to be done in our world.”
Z, you are not lying. Sheesh.
