André 3000 to Join Season Two of TV Drama American Crime

André 3000 has no plans for a Hollywood divorce anytime soon. (The music front is concerning, though.) The OutKast half is joining the cast of ABC’s drama series American Crime, playing opposite Regina King. Dré will depict Michael Lacroix, an architect from the Midwest whose son becomes embroiled in a scandal at an elite private school, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The casting finds the 40-year-old artist reuniting with 12 Years a Slave writer John Ridley, who directed him in the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side. “I didn’t know if I was too old to play the part,” said Benjamin of his first recurring TV role. (He’s also acted in Four Brothers, Idlewild and Be Cool). “But John was really persistent and he kept at it. So I just kind of said, ‘All right, let’s do it.’ ” The Emmy-nominated debut season of American Crime wrapped in May.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith Are (Again) Reportedly Separating

Rumor has it that one of Hollywood’s great power couples is parting ways. If there’s any validity to a Radar report (please, let it be fabricated), Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are calling it quits. A tea-spilling “insider” allegedly told the publication the following: “For Will and Jada, holding it together these past few years has been tough because their marriage has been on life support for a long time. They’re exhausted from trying to maintain the façade of a happy union. They’ve decided to pull the plug in a carefully choreographed manner, [and] agree announcing their split at the end of the summer is the right move.”

The chatter has been swirling for some time now, but we’ve always thought after 17 years of marriage that Willow and Jaden’s parents would pull through and make it last forever, word to Keith Sweat. Gonna need to see some receipts before we believe this one; it’s not like we’ve never heard it before.

Remy Ma Looks Back on Her Prison Release One Year Ago

Time flies when you’re having freedom. It’s already been a 365 days since Remy Ma came home from a six-year prison sentence and she seems to be feeling as grateful and humbled as ever. The rapper revisited her first Instagram post following her release from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women. (It was a selfie, because the Internet.)

“At this moment 1 year ago I was sitting in a cell wondering when I was coming home,” she wrote, in a repost of the 52-week old photo. “I had actually gave up hoping that it would even happen. I was supposed to be released July 31, 2014 & I had woke up on August 1, 2014 STILL in prison; I was devastated. Yet, by the grace of my merciful God, I was able to awake the next day at home, in my bed, and post my 1st selfie. At this moment I was so happy but still in shock that I was actually ‘free.’ ”

She also dropped a second IG post—another selfie of her tucked in bed—as a dedication to her husband Papoose, with whom she will appear on the upcoming season of Love & Hip-Hop: New York.
