Anika Noni Rose Lands Starring Role in BET’s ‘The Yard’

Tony Award-winning actress Anika Noni Rose keeps the gigs rolling and her talents sharp.

The multi-talented entertainer, who is set to appear in the upcoming reboot of  Roots as Kizzy, has signed on as the leading lady in BET's two-hour scripted pilot, The Yard.

The film is set in Atlanta and takes place on the campus of the fictional Georgia A&M college. Rose's character, Eva, is the newly elected president of the college who discovers a bold and diverse freshman class that is sure to keep her attention.

Also joining the cast is Jasmine Guy, Ruben Santiago-Hudson and Peyton Alex Smith. Rob Hardy serves as the director.
