Azealia Banks took to Instagram this weekend with shocking news for her fans, revealing that she was drugged and raped.
“Lowkey just got raped. I feel like dirt,” Banks cried as she remembered feeling pressured into having sex.
“I just feel so dirty and stupid right now, you know? We were just hanging out and one thing led to another. I just feel really dumb, because it was partially my fault… I’m just like sitting here like feeling f*cking low and sh*t… I just want to f*cking disappear right now.”
“I just feel really bad,” she continued. “I don’t think I’m going to be putting out more music…Like I just want to take some time…and figure out what just happened.
“You don’t really realize it like this rape sh*t. Men can just prey on you and f*cking like badger you, force you to say yes… to the point where you feel like you gave consent but you didn’t give s**t. You never wanted to do sh*t and you’re just there feeling f*cking powerless. Someone really just got the f*cking best of me,” she said.
Banks later returned to social media to update her fans that she felt much better while revealing what it was like to be roofied.
“I’m awake and walking y’all!! I’m good!! Like I said..It takes a lot to take this elephant down!! Show is still on for tomorrow..see y’all then!!! What is even in a roofie? I’ve never felt that type of intoxication in my life,” she added. “I woke up my throat was in pins and needles.”
