Barbara Walters Outs George Zimmerman

The View

After George Zimmerman caused quite the stir on Sean Hannity's program, Barbara Walters spilled the beans on her attempt to interview the vigilante shooter of Trayvon Martin on her show last Friday. Walters told a stunned "The View" audience that she flew down to Florida to meet with Zimmerman to arrange an interview with him, but the meeting was anything but ordinary. According to the legendary ABC News reporter, Zimmerman arrived to the meeting dressed in a t-shirt, and made an outlandish demand. Zimmerman apparently wanted ABC to pay for a month-long hotel stay for he and his wife, Shellie Zimmerman.

Walters continued, describing Zimmerman as "soft spoken" and "desperate for money." Surprisingly, Zimmerman called into "The View" during the show to clear the air with Walters, but she refused his call. "Mr. Zimmerman, if you could not do the interview yesterday, I don't think we should do a quick one today," Walters said. Zimmerman and his lead attorney Mark O'Mara intended to go to FOX to repair Zimmerman's reputation after allegations of lying about personal funds came to light, but it appears that that strategy has backfired.
