Black excellence was in full effect during Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony; stars of color swept all guest-appearance categories for the first time in history.

Tiffany Haddish took home a trophy for her first Saturday Night Live hosting gig while fellow stand-up Katt Williams won the Best Guest Actor in a Comedy award for his Season Two appearance on Donald Glover’s Atlanta.

Black actors brought the drama as well, with former Orange Is the New Black actress Samira Wiley winning for her guest spot on Hulu favorite Handmaid’s Tale. This Is Us actor Ron Cephas took home the award for Best Guest Actor in a television drama.

Saturday Night Live actor Kenan Thompson also won Best Music and Lyrics for co-writing parody song β€œCome Back Barack.” Dave Chappelle: Equanimity won Best Variety Special (Recorded), and John Legend became the first Black man to achieve EGOT status with his Emmy for producing Jesus Christ Superstar. RuPaul Charles also won Best Reality Host for the third year in a row for Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
