‘Black-ish’ Star Anthony Anderson Denies Sexual Assault Allegation

Anthony Anderson

Los Angeles police confirmed on Sunday in US Weekly that Anthony Anderson is under investigation after an unidentified woman who catered an event for him more than a year ago accused him of sexual assault. The black-ish actor denied the claim.

A representative for Anderson responded in a statement to the publication: “It is unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim.”

According to The Blast, the woman said the assault occurred when she met with Anderson a second time to talk about working together in the future. She came forward months later because the #MeToo movement made her comfortable to tell her story.

The LAPD has confirmed there is an open investigation but has not shared any details.

Another woman accused Anderson in 2004 of forcing her to have sex in the trailer on the set of the film Hustle & Flow. The case was dropped after a judge said the woman’s testimony during the preliminary hearing did not warrant the charges.
