A$AP Rocky’s Five-Part Documentary SVDDXNLY Premieres on Noisey

Fans of the unruliness that is A$AP Rocky and his syrup-injected music will be happy to hear he just dropped the first installment of his five-part documentary, SVDDXNLY. The project hosts behind-the-scenes gems of the Harlem MC on tour, and also includes special appearances by Rihanna, Danny Brown, Snoop Dogg and Drake. Presented by Noisey, the miniseries features unreleased music from Rocky’s upcoming instrumentals album, Beauty & the Beast: Slowed Down Sessions (Chapter 1). Part one of the documentary is available now, and you can catch the four remaining segments in the weeks to come.

Nicki Minaj Covers The Fader Magazine + Gets Emotional

Nicki Minaj has snagged the fall fashion issue of The Fader magazine, and though she’s not baring her booty this time around, fans might appreciate her stripped down naturalesque look on the cover. When asked about the disturbing revelation she made during her acceptance speech at the 2014 BET Awards (where she said she’d a near-death experience but opted not to call an ambulance out of fear of being caught on TMZ), Nicki said that her point was the industry kills, and alluded to her fear of public humiliation.

Future, Game, Mase + More Releasing a Rap Album with NBA Players

In this week’s “why” moment, get ready to plug your ears hear some of hip-hop’s most seasoned stars come together with a few of your favorite NBA ballers on an upcoming they-should’ve-left-this-one-on-the-bench collaborative LP, Full Court Press Vol. 1. (Let’s pray they stop at the first volume.) Spearheaded by A&R exec Shannon “Slam” Ridley, the album’s lead single, “Champion,” features a starting lineup of Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion, T-Pain, Dorrough and Young Cash.

The record will also include artists such as Future, Game, Twista, Bun B, and Mase rapping alongside hoop stars like Iman Shumpert, Stephen Jackson and retired vet/coach Juwan Howard. More power to these players, but obviously they haven’t learned anything from Shaquille O’Neal.
