Kerry Washington Previews Confirmation Role as Anita Hill

Kerry Washington made Olivia Pope a household name via Scandal, and now she’s looking to retell the story of a real-life historical woman. She’s starring in an upcoming HBO biopic titled Confirmation, in which she’ll depict Anita Hill, the attorney who came to prominence in the early ’90s after accusing her then-supervisor (now Supreme Court judge) Clarence Thomas of sexually harassing her. Washington posted a photo to her Instagram account yesterday (June 16), giving a first look at her take on Ms. Hill. “Thank you for the profound opportunity of getting to inhabit Anita Hill and help tell this story!” she wrote in the photo’s caption, directed to HBO. “Yours truly, K-Dub (a.k.a. super excited exec producer).” Confirmation also stars Jennifer Hudson and Jeffrey Wright.

Eminem in Talks for Executive Producer/Music Supervisor Roles on Narc

Eminem has repped Detroit hard for his entire career, from the fictionalized 8 Mile biopic to his zany discography. Now he plans to put on for his city on the small screen, too. The 42-year-old lyricist is in negotiations to sign onto a TV project based in Motor City that is inspired by Joe Carnahan’s 2002 crime thriller, Narc. If all goes well, he’ll serve as an executive producer and music supervisor, which means, bih you guessed it, more original Slim Shady tracks! The show’s director and executive producer Carnahan has written a script for a pilot expected to be shopped to networks.

50 Cent Threatens to Sue MediaTakeOut for Leaking Nude LaLa Sex Scene from Power

Unfortunately for big-name artists, music prematurely leaks about as often as the back of your AC unit. But when spoilers from a smash TV show hit the Internet early, well, things can go from zero to one headache of a lawsuit, real quick. So alas, 50 Cent is telling MediaTakeOut to lawyer up after the gossip site posted a clip from an upcoming episode of Power. Spoiler alert: The clip shows La La Anthony’s character Lakeisha topless in a sex scene with [redacted]. “Shout out to MediaTakeOut for showing La La some love and showing her scene early,” 50 Cent said in a response video clip. “I’m not gonna take it personal, so don’t take it personal with me when they sue you ’til you’re blue in the face.” Hopefully we’ll get the scene’s full context when the third episode of the show’s sophomore season airs Saturday at 9 p.m. on Starz. (The clip has since been taken down. Somebody shook one?)
