Kobe Bryant Both Confirms and Denies Retirement Plans After Next Season

The end of an era in Lakerland—and the NBA—is swiftly approaching. One day in the not-so-distant future, Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest ballers to ever play the game, will unlace his Nikes for good. And while basketball fans have anxiously awaited that inevitable day, reminded of its proximity by the 36-year-old guard’s consecutive season-ending injuries, it may finally have a set date.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 19-year Laker says next season, 2015-16, will be his final in the upcoming documentary Kobe Bryant’s Muse, slated to air Saturday (February 28). Yet in an interview with Grantland, he denies, denies, denies. “No, it’s not true,” he told Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose. Whatever the case, Kobe is under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers for one more season. Hopefully the struggling franchise can pull together a contending squad by the time Kobe returns in the fall.

Martin Lawrence Has Written a Sequel to A Thin Line Between Love and Hate

Before Beyoncé showed us the sexy side of being crazy in love, Lynn Whitfield was slashing Martin Lawrence’s tires in the comedy-thriller A Thin Line Between Love and Hate. Now, nearly 20 years after the movie’s release, Martin has announced he’s completed the script for a sequel. The original Def Comedy Jam host recently posted a photo of a screenplay titled A Thin Line Between Love And Hate 2 to his Instagram profile, adding, “Just finished writing A Thin Line Between Love and Hate 2. Excited as a MF! #crazyderanged #comingatyou.” So does the obsessed Brandi return from jail with a vendetta? Do the tables turn and Darnell becomes the stalker type? Or are the characters scrapped altogether for a new loopy love story? No matter what the plot is, we’re sure the follow-up film will be crazy.

Kanye West Is Working on a Video Game About His Mother’s Journey Through Heaven

Kanye West knows no bounds. With his new Adidas collection and surprise album on the way, ’Ye continues to think outside of the hip-hop box, to the gaming world. He told The Breakfast Club he’s been working on a video game for the past six months, to coincide with “Only One,” his dedication to his late mother. “The idea is, it’s my mother going through the gates of heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light,” the producer/MC said. “It’s important for me to innovate.”
