[BLACK POP DAILY]Label Drops Azealia Banks

Azealia Banks Released from Universal Music

After months of literally begging to be dropped from Universal Music, complaining about meetings with “old White guys” who don’t understand her “Black girl craft,” and having her album continuously pushed back, Azealia Banks has finally been let free from her miserable deal with the record label. The frank femcee announced her departure on Twitter, unleashing her jubilance with tweets like “Free at last” and “I’s Is Free.” Well, now that she’s made it to the promised land, hopefully her Broke with Expensive Taste debut will finally make its way off the shelf.

Jay Z Joins Forces with the Global Poverty Project to End World Poverty by 2030

Jay Z has taken a break from his evil Illuminati scheme (jokes) to do some good for the world. On September 27, Jigga Man will headline this year’s Global Citizen Festival in Central Park to help obliterate extreme poverty worldwide. “I’m joining the 2014 Global Citizen Festival because I believe through actions, whether it be by raising awareness, getting involved or educating ourselves, the goal to end extreme poverty by 2030 is possible,” Jay said in a statement.

Other big names like The Roots will take the stage in support of the Global Poverty Project and, as in the past two years, the festival is free for all attendees. The only thing you have to pay is some spare time visiting to jump in on the fight against poverty.
