Pharrell, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Jay Z Among Top Nominees at This Year’s Billboard Awards

When it comes to Black music stars, it’s no secret who’s scorching up the charts and dominating radio waves. So it comes as no surprise that Justin Timberlake is leading the pact with 11 nominations at this year’s Billboard Awards. (Hey, the brotha’s got soul.) Pharrell and Beyoncé are right behind, tied with seven nominations apiece. (But if I hear “Happy” or “Drunk in Love” one more time…)

Rihanna snagged five nods while Jay Z racked up four for Magna Carter Holy Grail and his drunk love song with his wife. Kelly Rowland will honor John Legend with the 2014 Milestone Award for all his mushy song lyrics, musical innovation and make-you-wanna-dirty-dance-with-your-ex ballads. Sounds like it’s going to be an interesting show… Congrats to the nominees!

BET Brings Back Comic View with Host Sommore

Yes people, get ready to get your laugh on, because BET is returning with their classic comedy series, Comic View. That’s right, the show that helped launch the careers of giants like Bernie Mac, D. L. Hughley, Rickey Smiley, Cedric the Entertainer and Kevin Hart is coming back to the tube. (No, not YouTube, for all you young bucks raised in the age of Internet stars.) Sommore, Queen of Comedy and former host to the show, is reclaiming her throne as chief on this fresh season, which airs next month. (So get ready for the aggressive cleavage, no-booty jokes and extra dose of hoodness… in a good way.)

K. Michelle Gets Hoaxed by Crazy Fan Who Concocts Sob Story to Meet Her

The most defining moment as an entertainer isn’t winning a Grammy or selling out arenas, it’s the moment when you attract a crazed fan so obsessed with meeting you that s/he fabricates a pitiful storyline just to accomplish that goal. ’Tis the case with K. Michelle and her psycho-stalker fanatic.

K had uploaded a screenshot to her Facebook of a convo she’d had with someone who claimed they were taking care of a terminally ill girl named Emma, whose only motivation to stay alive was hearing the reality star’s music. (Something already smells fishy.) After promising to be around in the event that Emma came back to consciousness, Ms. Michelle soon found out it was all the lie of a desperate follower created just to get near her.

In true K. Michelle fashion, she blasted the wacky loon behind this scheme on Instagram. While I’m happy Ms. Drama is safe and was able to discern the faultiness in this story before she found herself in a compromising position, let’s not forget that the “very special” singer can be a little off her rocker too. (Birds of a feather…)
